Young and Restless Predictions: Nate Baby Shocker, Phyllis Assaulted & Kyle Tricked

It’s been a year since we last saw Dr. Elena Dawson. In November 2023, she was last around. We knew she was coming back because Brittney Sarpy posted in early October that she was back on set filming. I was curious what plot they’d bring her back for. I really like her; I even liked her on General Hospital before they stopped writing for her, basically writing her out.
At the time Elena left, her boyfriend Nate was bedding Victoria, and Audra Charles made sure Elena found out so she could confront and dump him. This happened in May 2023. For the timeline: Elena left around June 20th, was gone through August 25th, returned briefly in October, and appeared in one episode in November.
Here’s a photo from the 13,000th episode: Elena stands beside Nate, who’s holding a young child, possibly six to nine months old. It looks like this could be Elena and Nate’s baby, which may explain her return. If Elena got pregnant just before busting Nate with Victoria, she would’ve been about 27 weeks along when she left. Many first-time pregnancies don’t show until six months or so — I didn’t show until I was six months, then suddenly went from no bump to full bump.
The baby would be about nine months old now. While the child in the photo looks younger, soap operas often play loosely with real time. I can’t imagine Nate holding a baby in a cast photo unless it was part of the story. However, since this isn’t confirmed, it’s a prediction, not a spoiler.
There’s been tabloid speculation tying this photo to Sally and Adam’s baby, suggesting a wild story where Elena stole it. That idea is unlikely — Elena is not a baby stealer. If she did come back with a baby, it’s hers, not Sally and Adam’s. Their child tragically died, and while it was compelling drama with great acting, that storyline is over.
