The Young and the Restless

Eric Braeden Says “Goodbye” on IG and Leaves!!

The new year is definitely starting on the wrong foot, and Y&R star Eric Braeden is probably going to agree with that. He recently took to his social media to say his goodbyes, and all we can say is it made us all worried. So stick around to know all about it.

Hey everyone, welcome to Tren Street! As many of you might have heard or seen, California is going through the worst wildfire the place has ever experienced. The Palisades Fire broke out on Tuesday, and since then, it has been spreading non-stop. Right now, there are three separate fires in the region: the Palisades Fire west of Los Angeles, the Eaton Fire north of Pasadena, and the Hurst Fire in the San Fernando Valley.

According to AP News, at least five people have died from the raging fire in Los Angeles, and more than 10,000 people have been ordered to evacuate their homes. Among those affected by these devastating wildfires was our very own Young and the Restless star, Eric Braeden.

On January 7th, Braeden posted a short video on Instagram showing the view from the patio at the back of his house. He wrote, “Behind my house. The worst ever in LA.” In the video, you can clearly see the wildfire creeping toward his home. The fire was visible across the backyard pool, and what appeared to be a fence in Braeden’s yard seemed dangerously close to the flames.

While at the time he didn’t give any updates about whether he was evacuating or not, the next day, he shared those updates. He posted another video taken from his backyard with the caption, “Saying goodbye.” The fire was still uncontrollable. In the video, he confirmed that he and his family had to evacuate their home, showing what was once a beautiful spot now covered in flames.

He said, “Everyone, I see this beautiful area go up in flames. Unbelievable. Alright, God bless you all. Be cool. Bye.” The damage is unmeasurable. But even amidst this terrible situation, Braeden maintained positivity, repeating, “God bless you all. Be cool. Bye.”

Seeing this unsettling video, concerned fans and his Y&R co-stars joined in the comments to express their worries. Greg Rikaart commented, “Thinking about you and your family, Eric, and hoping you’re all safe,” while a fan wrote, “Praying for this to end and for safety for the firefighters and everyone affected.”

While it’s a relief to hear Eric and his family are safe, he’s not the only soap star impacted by these wildfires. Sadly, General Hospital star Cameron Mathison completely lost his home to the fire. Thankfully, he and his family are also safe.

Right now, we can’t even imagine what Eric, along with others affected by these wildfires, must be going through. All we can do is hope everyone stays safe and that this wildfire will stop soon.

Stay tuned for more updates, and let’s all share some love and positivity for everyone affected in the comments below.
