The Target
Victoria Newman sat in her office, the weight of her responsibilities bearing down on her as always. But beneath her polished exterior, a shadow loomed—one that no amount of poise could dispel. Jordan was out there, plotting. The whispers, the strange coincidences, the growing sense of unease—it all pointed to one truth: her life was in danger.

Victoria knew exactly why. It was Claire. Her daughter’s complicated relationship with Jordan had drawn Victoria into a web of animosity she had never wanted to be part of. But she couldn’t regret her choices. Claire was her child, her heart and soul, and no matter how strange their relationship had become, Victoria would never stop fighting for her.

Sitting at her desk, she reread a message from Claire—a rare olive branch amidst the chaos.
“Mom, trust me. I’m handling it. Please don’t do anything reckless. Just believe in me.”

The words made Victoria’s chest tighten. For all her faults, Claire was still her daughter. If trusting Claire meant putting herself at risk, so be it.

Jordan’s Plan
Jordan sat in the dimly lit room, her fingers tapping rhythmically against the table. Her mind was a storm of anger and determination.

Victoria Newman—the root of all her problems. The woman who stood in the way of Claire’s complete loyalty. Claire’s love for her mother was a weakness, a chink in the armor Jordan had so carefully crafted.
“She has to go,” Jordan muttered to herself, her voice low and icy.

For Jordan, this wasn’t just about eliminating an obstacle. It was personal. Victoria embodied everything Jordan despised: privilege, power, and a sense of untouchability. Yet despite all her plotting, Jordan couldn’t shake the feeling that something—or someone—was watching her.

A Mother’s Trust
Victoria’s instincts screamed at her to run, to protect herself. But she couldn’t—not when Claire had asked for her trust. Despite their rocky history, Victoria saw glimpses of the girl she used to hold in her arms, the daughter she had always loved unconditionally.

She called Claire that evening, her voice trembling slightly.
“I got your message. Are you sure you can handle this?”

“Yes, Mom,” Claire replied, her tone firm but with a hint of vulnerability. “Just stay low. Let me deal with Jordan.”

Victoria hesitated. “Claire, you don’t have to do this alone. We’re stronger together.”

“No,” Claire said quickly. “You have to trust me. Please.”

For once, Victoria chose to listen, though every instinct as a mother told her to do otherwise.
