According to AP News, the fires have claimed at least five lives, and over 10,000 residents have been forced to evacuate their homes.
Among those impacted is none other than Y&R legend Eric Braden. On January 7th, Eric posted a short video on Instagram showing a chilling view from his patio. In the post, he wrote: “Behind my house, the worst ever in LA.” The footage revealed flames creeping dangerously close to his property, with the fire visible just beyond his backyard pool and fence. Although Eric didn’t initially confirm whether he had evacuated, the escalating situation left fans deeply worried.
The following day, Eric provided an update, sharing another video from his backyard. The fire continued to rage uncontrollably, and this time the caption read: “Saying goodbye.” In the video, Eric revealed that he and his family had made the difficult decision to evacuate. The once-beautiful surroundings were now engulfed in flames. With a heavy heart, Eric said: “Everyone, I see this beautiful area up in flames. Unbelievable. God bless you all. Be cool. Bye.”
