Hollywood has lost a true icon. Wings Hauser, the prolific actor known for his unforgettable roles in Vice Squad, Magnum P.I., and The Young and the Restless, has passed away at the age of 78.

Hauser passed away on March 15, 2025, in Los Angeles of natural causes. His wife, Cie Lily Hauser, shared a heartfelt statement, saying that he “took flight in her arms” after a remarkable career spanning 58 years in film, TV, and music.

Born Gerald Dwight Hauser in 1947, Wings followed in the footsteps of his father, Academy Award-winning filmmaker Dwight A. Hauser. He made his film debut in First to Fight (1967) but initially pursued music, releasing an album in 1975 before returning to acting.

Hauser gained recognition in The Young and the Restless (1977–1981) before breaking out in Vice Squad (1982) as the terrifying villain Ramrod. He also wrote the story for the war film Uncommon Valor (1983) and became a familiar face in the 1980s with appearances in Magnum P.I., Airwolf, The A-Team, and Murder, She Wrote.

His career continued strong into the 2000s with guest roles in House, Bones, and The Mentalist. In 2010, he even appeared in The Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff.

Wings Hauser is survived by his wife, Cie Lily, daughter Bright Hauser, and son Cole Hauser, the actor known for his role in Yellowstone.

His legacy as a dedicated performer and storyteller will never be forgotten.
