Days of Our Lives Star Speaks Out After Being Fired Again! Tamara Braun Out as Ava

Fans of Ava Vitali on Days of Our Lives will be sad to hear that Tamara Braun is leaving the show again.

On April 1st, she announced her departure on Instagram, confirming it was not an April Fool’s joke, though she wished it were.
“This is Ava’s last week on Days,” Braun wrote, sharing a video of behind-the-scenes memories with the cast and crew.
“Only a couple more days left. It’s sad but true.”

She revealed she actually filmed her final scenes back in July, and her last episode will air on Wednesday, April 3rd.

Fans still have a little time left to enjoy Ava’s character before she exits.
Braun also said she misses working with her castmates, calling them “a wonderful group of caring people.”
“Being with them was a joy. Thanks for all the love, kindness, and support during Ava’s latest time in Salem.”

Tamara Braun has played Ava on and off since 2008, when she first appeared on the show.
She left that same year but won a Daytime Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in 2009.
In 2011, she returned as a different character — Taylor Walker — but that role was short-lived.
Ava returned again in 2015 for Days’ 50th anniversary, left in 2016, came back in 2020, left in 2022, and most recently returned in August 2023.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Braun said executive producer Albert Alarr reached out with a story idea, and she agreed to return.

Over the years, Braun has enjoyed playing Ava, calling her “complex and layered.”
“There have been different versions of Ava — some I’ve liked more than others,” she said,
“but what keeps it exciting is how unpredictable her story always is.”

While Ava’s time in Salem is ending again, fans know anything is possible — she may return once more.
