Sam gives Nina advice.

Sonny asks Diane for information.
-
Willow pleads with Michael.
-
Diane drops by Sonny’s office as he asked to see her. Sonny wants to know what the SEC has against Carly. She says that’s privileged information and he’s no longer married to Carly. Sonny insists he just wants to know what Carly is up against and how to get her out of this.
Diane says she can only talk hypothetically. Hypothetically speaking, if the SEC can prove insider trading and the case goes to trial, Carly will lose. Sonny says that can’t happen. He has contacts, but Diane laughs—there’s no way the feds will back down since they have a tip from a credible source.
Sonny says they need to discredit the source, which means finding out who it is. Diane tells him they can’t force the SEC to reveal their informant. The damning evidence is the timeline of Carly’s investment and the merger—she stood to make a fortune, and she had insider information thanks to Drew. Diane explains this is the textbook definition of insider trading.
Sonny argues it makes no sense to go after Carly—she’s broke and not a hedge fund manager. He quickly realizes Drew is the real target, and Carly is just leverage. Sonny asks if the feds will make a deal with Carly. Diane asks if he really thinks Carly would take it. Then she asks—if the roles were reversed, does he think Carly would be doing all this for him? Sonny has no doubt.
At the hospital, Carly asks Dante if he has any information on the SEC case against her. She already knows Sonny is the reason the feds let her go and bought Drew more time by sending them on a wild goose chase. Dante acknowledges the tension between Carly and Sonny but asks if she really expected him to step back and let her handle this alone.
Carly admits she did, but no matter what has happened, on some level, Sonny is still who he has always been. She wasn’t surprised it was Sonny who helped her last night. Even at their worst, they are still there for each other.
Dante warns Carly that the SEC’s quick action likely means they have a strong case. Carly realizes she should contact Diane.
Meanwhile, Sam runs into Nina, who asks about Willow’s wedding. Sam describes how beautiful Willow looked, how cute the kids were, and how real and hopeful the vows were. The wedding was perfect—until the SEC arrived.
Nina is furious, calling the timing heartless. But at least the ceremony was over, and Willow and Michael were married. Nina asks how upset Willow was. Sam confirms she was very upset, as she and Carly have grown close. Nina knows Carly has become the mother Willow never had.
Nina rants that Willow’s loyalty to Carly is baffling—if Carly had told the truth months ago, they could have avoided this, and Willow could have had her transplant sooner. Sam points out that, in Willow’s eyes, Carly has always been loving and accepting.
Nina knows she’s made mistakes, but she is still Willow’s mother. Sam responds that sometimes, knowing that makes things harder. She shares her own experience—when she learned Alexis was her mother, she hated her and resented the idea that she was supposed to love her just because they were related.
Nina asks how Sam and Alexis overcame that. Sam says it took time, trial, and error. Nina fears she and Willow might not have time. Sam suggests Carly could help. Nina scoffs—Carly would never help her. Sam says she could try. Instead of fighting, she could tell Carly she’s sorry and needs her help. Then, Sam wishes Nina luck and leaves.
Later, Nina runs into Carly. They stand there, silent.
At the hospital, Michael sits with Willow and reassures her that with Drew and others on the way, she’s going to live. She tells him he never gave up hope, and now they can properly celebrate in Paris after she recovers.
Michael suggests looking up places to stay in Paris, but Willow stops him. She asks if he still has the footage of Sonny. He does. Then, she asks if he turned it over to the FBI. He admits he hasn’t.
She asks him to delete it. He insists it’s important evidence of a crime, but she argues it will tear their family apart. She asks him to think about his sisters.
Michael says he has thought about them. Everyone in Sonny’s orbit is in danger. Eventually, his sisters will know what Sonny does and be expected to look the other way. He doesn’t want that for them.
Willow warns him—if he turns Sonny in, Donna and Avery won’t just lose their father, they’ll lose him too. His siblings will hate him for sending their dad to prison. She begs him not to make them choose between him and their father.
She’s not asking him to forgive Sonny or make peace—just to protect their family. She grew up without one and believes keeping their family whole is more important than justice.
Diane interrupts with news—Drew and the others are on their way back, so it’s time to prep Willow for her transplant.
Meanwhile, Josslyn visits Dex, crying. She tells him they can’t find Spencer. Trina called her from Greenland—the Haunted Star exploded, and they’re still searching for Spencer.
Josslyn knows Trina will be devastated if Spencer is gone. She hates that Trina is miserable while she and Dex are happy. She says once Michael turns in the evidence, Dex will be free, and they can finally figure out what they mean to each other in the real world. But she fears Trina and Spencer might not get that chance.
In Greenland, Trina waits in a WSB hangar with baby Ace. Valentin enters. She asks if there’s any news on Spencer. Valentin says there’s no sign of him, but the WSB is searching the wreckage of the Haunted Star.
Anna is in Europe dealing with diplomats and the WSB. Curtis is being debriefed. A plane is ready to take them home, but Trina refuses to leave without Spencer.
An agent enters and reveals they’ve recovered a body. Valentin and Trina are taken to a room. The agent unzips a body bag—it’s Victor. Trina is relieved. She believes Spencer is still alive.
Outside, she tells Ace she knows his brother is alive. Spencer may be a pain, but he’s worth it. She flashes back to memories of them together.
Inside, Valentin stands over his father’s body. He wonders what he’s supposed to say. A word of regret? A wish that things had been different?
Victor claimed he watched Valentin from afar, but Valentin is grateful he stayed away. He was raised by someone else. He vows that future Cassadines will be proud of their name. Finally, he says goodbye to his father.
Valentin returns to Trina and tells her they need to return to Port Charles. She refuses to leave without Spencer. Valentin insists the WSB will keep searching, but she needs to take Ace back to Esme. Her family is waiting.
The agent leads Valentin (holding Ace) and Laura (comforting Trina) to the plane. Suddenly, Spencer stumbles out from behind some rocks.
Laura gasps. Trina runs to him and leaps into his arms. They passionately kiss.
