Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke Throws Carter Under the Bus to Save Hope!
Hey Bold and the Beautiful fans! I want to talk about Brooke Logan and how pleased I was initially when she ran right to Ridge Forrester to expose the coup against him.
However, on Monday’s episode, I was less thrilled when it seemed like she was working an angle to benefit Hope, sacrificing Carter in the process.
It’s Belinda from Soap Dirt, and I suspect Brooke might have run to Ridge just to get ahead of the crisis—blaming Steffy, throwing Carter under the bus, and advocating for Hope as only a mother can.
Let’s talk through this, and I look forward to reading your comments. But first, please click subscribe if you’re not following us!
Did Brooke Strategically Confess?
If you’ve listened here before, you know I was worried Brooke might sit on this big LLC takeover secret, much like she’s been sitting on the Hope-and-Carter romance secret.
To be fair, their private lives wouldn’t be relevant—except for Hope slipping into lingerie during the workday and accidentally pouncing on her boss, Steffy’s husband.
Last week, when Brooke went to Ridge, I thought, “Okay, good. She’s doing the right thing.” But now, after this week’s episodes, I’m starting to think Brooke confessed strategically.
It feels like she’s setting the stage for Hope’s comeback at Forrester Creations. We’ve known all along that Brooke wasn’t going to sit back and let Hope for the Future be cut.
Hope for the Future on Life Support
The line has been on life support for months, basically since Thomas left. Everything fell apart—even Carter agreed it needed to go, at least until he started his little secret romance with Hope.
The problem is, Steffy tied the line’s end to Hope staying away from Finn. When Hope jumped on Steffy’s husband, that was all the ammunition Steffy needed to fire her. Brooke clearly wants to undo that firing.
Brooke’s Priorities
Brooke knows she can’t save everyone, but Hope is far more important to her than Carter. His future isn’t even on her radar.
However, Brooke can’t just say that outright. She’s being very clever in how she’s framing the coup to Ridge—shading Steffy, throwing Carter under the bus, and exonerating Hope.
And honestly? I think it’s working.
Manipulating Ridge’s Focus
Brooke explained to Ridge that Hope and Carter felt disrespected. She made it clear that Hope wasn’t trying to seduce Finn. Ridge seems to believe her because she said plainly that Hope was waiting for Carter in lingerie—not Finn.
Brooke then reminded Ridge that he and she have been known to fool around at work for years, so he can’t really judge.
With this, Brooke invalidated Steffy’s reasoning for firing Hope, setting the stage for Ridge to overturn it.
Riling Ridge Against Carter
Brooke also highlighted Carter’s idea of transforming Forrester into a luxury brand. Ridge scoffed, reminding her that Carter already pitched this concept and was shut down.
When Ridge vented about Carter betraying him, Brooke agreed, saying, “What he’s doing now is wrong.”
This clever maneuvering shifted Ridge’s anger toward Carter and away from Hope. By the end of Monday’s episode, Ridge was saying, “Carter did this to me,” with Hope’s name barely mentioned.
Brooke’s True Goal
Brooke’s strategy is clear:
- Shift blame to Steffy for misunderstanding the Hope-Finn situation.
- Emphasize Carter’s betrayal to redirect Ridge’s frustration.
- Lay the groundwork for Ridge to rehire Hope and reinstate Hope for the Future.
Brooke has likely realized that even if Carter takes over Forrester Creations, it won’t last. The Forresters will regain control and kick Carter (and potentially Hope) out.
Brooke’s best move is to stop the coup before it starts and position Ridge to owe her a favor—namely, reinstating Hope at Forrester.
Fallout with Hope
The big confrontation between Brooke and Hope is teased for Wednesday but may kick off on Tuesday. Hope is furious at Brooke for running to Ridge, thinking she put Ridge before her.
Brooke might confirm my theory: Carter is beyond saving, and her only option was to protect Hope’s job and line.
Still, Hope is likely to push back, and Steffy will explode when she learns Ridge might rehire Hope.
Brooke’s Gambit
Brooke has made a convincing case that Hope was fired due to a misunderstanding, paving the way for Ridge to reverse it. And if it means throwing Carter under the bus to save Hope?
Brooke would do it all day long. She’ll always put her daughter first, even if it means protecting Hope from herself.
