Leo May Have *Finally* Gotten Lady Whistleblower’s Identity Right — and Brady and Kristen’s Attempts to Help Rachel Backfire, Bigtime
Thursday, January 16, 2025: Today on Days of Our Lives, Leo finally figures out Lady Whistleblower’s identity, Kristen and Brady try to get Rachel help and Javi shuts down Gabi’s worries.
On today’s Days of Our Lives, Holly calls Doug to let him know she got enough money for him to pay off his debts from Maggie. She hangs up and Tate walks in with a bouquet of flowers. He says he just really wanted to do something nice after what happened the other day. He wishes he could change it all, but he can’t. “Yeah. I know.”
He doesn’t know how it’ll play out. He only knows the baby is coming “no matter what” and he can’t lose Holly. She knows he’s sorry and didn’t mean for this to happen and tried using protection, but this is really hard for her. Tate promises he won’t let this or anything tear them apart. He kisses Holly as Doug walks in, apologizing for interrupting.
Holly introduces them and Tate asks how Doug got his injuries. Just a stupid accident, he says, and Holly tells an uncomfortable Tate about them spending New Year’s Eve together at Julie’s. Tate thanks Doug for looking out for Holly on New Year’s, but before he can find out why the newbie is visiting, he gets a text from Sophia about her doctor’s appointment being moved to today. He leaves a sad Holly behind, saying he felt like it was the right thing to do.
On the phone with Abe in his room, Leo tells his boss that Javi is Lady Whistleblower. Marlena knocks on his door and reminds Leo that they’ve got lunch planned. He wants to talk to her about his bad news, only feeling marginally bad about getting advice for free. Just as he made nice with Javi, he learned he was right about him the whole time!
He lays out the windy road that led to Javi, but Marlena cautions him not to jump to any conclusions. He doesn’t have any proof, just circumstantial evidence. She starts asking questions and Leo realizes Javi doesn’t really have a connection to Rochester, so why would he do his banking there? He’s about to go pick a fight with Javi, but Marlena stops him.
If he’s right, he needs proof, but if he’s wrong, accusing Javi again could ruin things for good. Leo agrees to be patient and find evidence and thanks Marlena for saving him once again. They head out to lunch.
Javi and Kerry make lunch plans over the phone, after which Kerry pulls out his laptop, musing, “How can I ruin Leo Stark’s life before lunch?” Back in the Hernandez home, Gabi gets home and tells her cousin they need to talk — about Leo! She really likes Kerry and Javi’s jeopardizing it all by keeping the former con around. She talked with Kerry and he’s not happy about Leo being around.
They get into an argument over how bad Leo is and Gabi tells her cousin to cut him out of his life once again. “I’m not gonna do that,” he shakes his head. “No way.” Gabi flips out, but Javi says both Kerry and her just have to understand that his and Leo’s friendship isn’t a threat to anyone.
“Fine,” she snaps. Gabi can’t stop him, but he’ll have to figure out how to explain this to Kerry. Javi says he will, and if he’s making a mistake like she says, it’s his mistake to make.
Back home, Brady welcomes Ava, thanks her for coming, then jumps right into letting her know that Rachel was the one behind the texts. Ava’s stunned, but realizes it makes sense. Rachel wants mommy and daddy back together. She asks what Brady and Kristen are going to do. They took away Rachel’s phone, Brady says, and they agreed she needs therapy. So long as it’s not Marlena or one of her associates, per Kristen’s insistence.
Ava says getting help is all that matters and Brady agrees that he’s got to take Rachel’s destructive behavior seriously and help her. “So maybe we shouldn’t see each other anymore,” Ava suggests. No, no, that’s the worst idea, Brady says. He can’t give up his own life just to appease his daughter. Ava suggests just spending less time with her and more with Rachel.
Over at the DiMera mansion, Rachel grabs a letter opener and thinks back to Ava’s visit. Back in the present, she jimmies open the desk drawer lock with the opener and pulls out her phone. As she’s texting, though, Kristen swipes it from her hand. Rachel swears she was just playing Candy Crush, but Kristen checks the phone and sees another threatening text to Ava. “This is unacceptable, Rachel!”
The angry kid shrugs off her mom’s threats and Kristen says she and Brady have something in mind for her: Send her to therapy. Rachel happily agrees to talk to a shrink — “As long as it’s Granny Mar Mar!” Kristen smiles awkwardly and tells Rachel Marlena’s not the right therapist for her. She’s too close to Grandma Mar Mar, but she can tell a new therapist anything she wants.
