“I have a friend whose son was tragically killed by a hit-and-run driver,” Stafford explained. “The driver had a history of DUIs and arrests, yet he and his friends worked hard to cover up the crime. It’s an incredibly disturbing story, and I drew from my friend’s pain to bring authenticity to these scenes.”
Stafford noted that many people can relate to the frustration of feeling justice has been denied. Losing a loved one often stirs overwhelming emotions and a fierce drive for accountability—feelings that Phyllis embodies as she continues her battle against Sharon.
